“The answer to this question appears to depend mainly on your genetic makeup (i.e., the tendencies for growing facial hair that you were born with) and how long you have been on testosterone therapy. This mirrors the process that non-trans men go through when growing facial hair– it depends on their individual tendencies for growing facial hair, as well as the length of time that has passed since they began growing facial hair during puberty.

Regarding the genetic component, there is considerable variance in both the developmental pace and the quantity that different men are able to grow facial hair. Some men grow thick facial hair in a relatively short period of time after reaching puberty or starting testosterone therapy, while others may never be able to grow a full beard or mustache in their lifetime. Some men grow substantial facial hair only in certain areas (such as the sideburns or chin), but are unable to ever grow a full mustache or grow more than a few hairs on their cheeks. Some may notice patchy or bald areas in an otherwise full beard, or sideburns that never grow in fully. These varying developmental patterns seem to be largely related to inherited traits– though keep in mind that a guy may not be able to accurately predict his own facial hair growth based on that of his male relatives. Just because a man’s dad or brother grows a thick beard or mustache doesn’t necessarily mean that his own facial hair growth will be the same.

Regarding the length of time on testosterone therapy, there will be some variance depending on the individual, but generally facial hair tends to thicken and develop over a period of years rather than over just a few months. This is similar to any man who has gone though puberty–typically, some facial hair begins to develop in the early months of puberty, but it often takes a number of years to begin to grow facial hair in a pattern substantial enough to grow a full beard or a full mustache. Some men begin with only sparse facial hair in their teens and early twenties, but find that their beards have thickened and filled out by their late twenties or early thirties. There are individuals who grow facial hair quickly and densely, but most guys develop over time. For those who have been on testosterone for only a short time, patience is key when trying to grow a beard– it may take several years.”

Products for facial hair removal are effective for safely removing hair on the face, above the lips, and on or around the chin. Likewise, they are equally effective for removing body hair – on or under the arms, legs, back and chest, as well as along the bikini line and around the pubic area. While there are numerous solutions available – waxing, electrolysis, and pulling (ouch), a two-step process is generally recommended for safe and effective results.

A two-step process is not a dance – in so many words. The process refers to the combination of hair removing products or processes necessary to safely and effectively inhibit growth. The first is dissolving or removing of the follicle shaft and slowing or stopping the Anagen growth phase that produces the cortex, shaft and root. The second phase is to retard future development of thick, coarse follicles developed by the root and bulb. In many cases, even the most extreme retardation leaves the root and allows for future growth. Hair inhibitors should be used following removal to prevent mature follicles from appearing. So, the best procedure refers to first removing the hair, then preventing mature, thick hair from forming.

Hair inhibitors also use what are called bio-enzymatic plant extracts to help prevent regrowth. The objective being to give a safe, effective solution – especially when used in sensitive areas on the face, under arms and bikini line – particularly for use on pubic hair near the genitals. Care should be taken to avoid eye, mouth and nose and complete flushing is recommended for adverse reactions, though they are rare. Inhibitors, or retardants, work to prevent mature, thick follicle growth. It is not uncommon for some hair to growth, but it is usually fine, wispy, light-colored hairs that have not developed to maturity. The best products for unwanted facial hair removal protect and nourish the skin, while removing and inhibiting follicle development. A safe, easy and effective two-step process helps remove hair on the face and keeps it from coming back.

Excessive facial hair growth especially to women is both frustrating and depressing. It does not only grab confidence from most women but it is also a lot of money that is being spent for the treatments to remove excess hair permanently. However, there are always alternatives other than the expensive electrolysis, laser hair removal, and irritation depilatory creams.

Natural female facial hair removal methods are now spreading and have even been praised for its non-irritating and inexpensive form of hair removal remedy. Two of the easiest and most natural ways are waxing and plucking. Another one is termed as facial sugaring which can be made by heating sugar and lemon juice together then with the aid of cornstarch, applied to the hair then immediately pulled away against the direction of the hair growth. Painful as it is, it can also give soft, moisturized and smooth skin. You can also buy a ready made natural sugar mixture like MOOM Organic Hair Removal Kit which is available in any supermarket. Bleaching creams are also an option.

However, make sure you try a 24 hour patch test first to check for any skin irritation before buying a product. Lemon is one natural bleacher. Using lemon with honey everyday can result in visible changes in your hair. When bleached, facial hair becomes lightened in color and breaks off in the long run. One reason of excessive facial growth is due to high levels of testosterone. Lowering down testosterone using the all natural spearmint tea can also significantly lessen the growth of the hair. On one hand, make sure to try and test out products first before applying it on your face to avoid skin burns and irritation.

Unlike some men, who relish a bushy beard or a fashionable mustache, most women do not want to make decisions about styling facial hair. In fact, they do not want to think about it at all. Lip, chin, or cheek fuzziness is not considered a female attribute in our society, which is why many cosmetic manufacturers ardently work to create useful hair removal products. These can vary from sharp razors to soft creams, but all have the same goal of trying to remove hair shafts and follicles that grow in unwanted places on the female face.

Pluck out unwanted hair with tweezers. Since females use tweezers to shape their eyebrows and sometimes remove unwanted nose hair, they also may try to pull out those fine, dark hairs over the top lip or sprouting on the chin. Sometimes they explore around the ear area, too, in search of fine hair growing downward as though to simulate a shadowy beard. These are hard to grasp individually, so tweezers work best for individual long hairs or those that can be more readily visualized around the lips.

Try a depilatory cream. By following the product directions carefully, you can get rid of visible unwanted facial hair in most areas. Just be careful about using these products around the eyes. You may have to apply the cream over several days’ or weeks’ time to see consistent results. Experiment with hair bleaching products. If you can’t remove the hair or don’t like the idea of peach fuzz or stubble, you can try a bleaching cream, though you may have to experiment on small, hidden areas of your face first to be sure you don’t lighten too much the areas where the hair is located. As with other chemical products, be careful when using it around the eyes on the brow areas.

Sharpen your razor. Use a steel or plastic razor, preferably one made for women, to scrape away surface hairs around the mouth, on the chin, and over the cheeks. The down side to this method is you may have to keep doing it, since a razor doesn’t get at the hair follicle, which will continue to grow. You also may feel a light stubble if you have a lot of facial hair that needs to be removed, as some women with special conditions do. Cover it with cosmetics. If all else fails, apply enough natural-looking foundation to cover any mild hair growth so others can’t see it. You also can get electrolysis for hair removal, which may be permanent or require repeat visits. Contact a local doctor or a plastic surgeon for more information, or visit online websites for details.

In the past many women could get only temporary relief using a variety of facial hair removal products and treatments such as waxing, depilatory creams or shaving. There are a number of different ways that the removal of facial hair can be used in order to get a silky smooth hairless face.

The first method you can try is shaving. However, with this method it is only temporary and certainly not recommended to be used by women. What is important to remember is that with this method hair regrowth tends to occur rapidly and in some cases may be more pronounced and thicker than before.

You could have a go and use tweezers. Although this is a great way for removing un-wanted hair from small areas on the face it can be painful. The reason why so many women find this method painful is that the hair is plucked out at the root. But the benefit of this method is that it takes longer for regrowing hair to appear.

Use depilatory creams, gels or lotions. These contain a chemical that alters the structure of the hair and so makes it much more easy to remove. These are certainly one of the cheapest ways for the removal of facial hair. Not only is it inexpensive, it can also be done in the privacy of your own home and is usually pain free.

However, the disadvantages for using this method are that the effects are very short lived and it can cause irritation or even burning to a person’s skin. So it is vital that when using these products you only use ones which are specially formulated for the face and also carry out a skin test on a small section of your face before using the product. Make sure you read the instructions provided with the product carefully and this should help you to avoid skin irritation or chemical burns to your face.

Why not think about waxing. This type of removal of facial hair can be carried out every 4 to 6 weeks. You will normally need to apply either a cold or hot wax to the area of unwanted hair and you then pull off the wax and this brings the hair with it. Again it is best if you test a small area of your skin in order to see if you have an allergic reaction to the wax before you commence using it and it is important not to put the wax on to either sunburned or irritated skin. Waxing can be painful but it will only be done once every 1.5 months.
