Naturally Saving Your Hair

Alopecia, or baldness, is the loss of hair (usually on the head) resulting from heredity, hormonal imbalance, certain diseases or drugs and treatments, such as chemotherapy. Alopecia is brought forth by aging, illness, a change in hormones, familial history of baldness, trauma and burns. Alopecia does not result from lack of scalp circulation, faulty vitamins, dandruff or genes derived from a persons maternal grandfather. Depending on an individuals type of baldness–female baldness or male baldness, alopecia aureate, toxic alopecia, scarring alopecia or triclotillomania–there are different forms of treatments.

Treatments vary (according to physicians) from age, health and medical history to personal opinion or reference. Many forms of baldness are incurable and some will vanish on their own; however, there are safe, reliable products available for individuals suffering from alopecia. These products can help victims of alopecia recover from most of their hair loss within a time period of up to 48 weeks.

Some well-known treatments for baldness contain natural herbs, like lawat leaf (litsea glutinosa) and rosemary (rosemarinus ofici nails), which slow the process of hair loss. Other solutions include hair transplants, scalp reduction and skin lifts or grafts. However, the side effects of these solutions cause the skin beneath the hair to become spotted, weak and rough. Hair growth promoters are the best stimulants in preventing hair loss. One of the most popular hair growth promoters today is minoxidil.
